My name is Yesenia.

Yesenia Martinez-Yanez is a graphic designer and artist based in North Carolina. Strongly driven by “emotional design,” she is intrigued by the unique stories each individual holds. She finds herself sharing pieces of her inner core through editorial design, posters, and video storytelling in hopes to transpire reflection, motivation, and inspiration for all.

You can find bits of her personality within Oh no, Our Humor. It’s Broken, a typographic book exploring absurd memes that encompass the essence of Gen Z culture. Rebranding the iconic Pizza Planet, from the beloved Pixar Toy Story Franchise, into Pizza Planet Late Nite, is not only a peep into her skills of storytelling and design but also into the types of concepts that drive her passions for creating for the young at heart.

Over the summer of 2022, she worked closely with the Marketing and Design team at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University to revitalize and produce a video series, The Art Minute, that reflects on artworks within the museum accompanied by sentimental narratives from museum staff.

She is currently working within the Marketing and Communications department at Duke Arts where she manages, creates, and designs communications content for all arts-related exhibitions, performances, and workshops for Duke University.
